(b.1980, Chinese American) Brian Chan studied origami avidly as a child. While pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at MIT, a visit by Robert Lang in 2004 re-inspired him to take up folding seriously. Now an instructor at MIT and a freelance artist, Chan is considered one of the world’s foremost origami folders. His eclectic range of complex origami forms includes insects, humans, and figures inspired by fantasy and the visual arts.
