URASHIMA TARO (the immortal fisherman) is an old Japanese folktale about a young fisherman (Urashima Taro) that saves a small turtle that is tortured by children.
When he brings the turtle back to the sea, he finds out that it is actually the daughter of the Emperor of the Sea, Ryujin, who now wants to see him to thank him.
Taro spends 3 lovely days with the princess (he thinks) before he returns to his village. The princess gives him a mysterious box tamatebako which will protect him from
harm, but he may never open it!
His village has totally changed: his house and all the people he knew are gone, ... He discovers that he has not been gone for 3 days but for 300 years.
He then opens the box and turns into an old man.
