Open the point a little (with the end of a pen or something) and gently press it flat. If possible wetfold. You are right that a point will never really become round but shaping and 'adapting' the paper can do a lot.
Even though I am a 'rabbit person' (my all time favourite pets) I have not yet folded Ronald Koh's designs. There are soooooooooooo many other designs out there that I also want/have to fold :-)
